Today my publisher Firefly & Wisp announced there would be a BIG surprise for myself and one lucky soul on my Nov 7th release date. Apparently Danielle and the gang have gotten something cool that they are giving me, and if you reply to the post with a guess as to what it is and you're right, you get one too. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. And free stuff is always welcome around here. So... put on your thinking caps and get to guessing. What I'm getting and what the lucky winner get will be announced November 7th on the special event page of Facebook.
With that being said, if we are not friends on the book of Face, then now's the time to get on board the crazy train that's my life as an Author.

Love you all!
Renee'

WOW!

10/08/2012

What's up peeps? Wow what a crazy summer and beginning of fall here in Texas for me. I've managed to go on a fantastic vacation with the man and added another 3 states to my US travel map. South Dakota was fun but hot, Wyoming was so pretty and a wonderful place to camp, Montana was a quick drive in, drive out but hey it still counts right?

At home we have managed to move to a new house and although we've been here a week there are still lots of boxes still unpacked so if you are bored and want to help, come on over! We will open the door and welcome you in. And even offer a cold beer to you when you finish.

Went back to work in August. Back in the demanding world of the car business. But who can complain when you work with great people?

The big news on the book is that we have a firm release date. October 25th is the big day. The ebook will be available at Amazon.com, bn.com, Smashwords and other fine online retailers. And my publishing company, Firefly & Wisp Publishing will be hosting an online release party on Facebook at 7pm CST/8pm EST. I really hope to see all of you there.

After some minor controversy, Firefly & Wisp is going thru some changes. Changes that probably should have happened sooner but of course the old adage "don't fix it if it ain't broke" rings a bell. Well perhaps there were things that were broken and now that these issues are known, the owner has began to envision a whole new FF&W. And that can only mean good things for all of us. Especially the authors! New editorial staff & marketing staff have been brought in. A brand new website is being developed and something really cool for our fans. I'm not at liberty to tell what it is at this moment but I will have it featured here on the front page as soon as the announcement is made. So even tho last week scared me with the things that happened, this week has given me so many reasons to be proud of the company that I'm a part of. And I'm truly excited to see where we will all be this time next year.
Until next time, read something that makes you happy. And have an awesome week!

HOLY COW! The last 24 hours have been as surreal as anything a writer can imagine. I woke up late because I stayed awake reading "Fifty Shades of Grey" until after 2am. Pretty much the first thing I do is roll over and grabbed my cell and see what has happened in the world in the 6 or so hours that I've been in la la land. I always check text first because that's the important stuff that can't wait on email. I see a msg from Lisa and click it. I only see (mostly b/c I don't have my reading glasses on and I still have sleepy eyes) "Thought you may like seeing this page :) makes it a little more real... http://www.fireflyandwisp.com/Authors.html

Well I only saw the firefly and wisp part and kinda got excited. The link carries me to the publishers page and when I glance down the list I see my name. Since my son was born and I met Bob I have honestly not had a moment that I was so happy that I couldn't breathe. My name on a publishers website under the heading AUTHORS.

Even as I type this I'm getting emotional. I've wanted this for a long time. And until six months ago other than my girlfriends nagging me to finish the book so they could read it, I haven't had anyone that pushed me to finish. Bob did that for me. When we talked about it he would always say "get after it!, what are you waiting for?" He believed it in me as my partner, friend, lover and confidant. So I am dedicating my independence day to him. For believing in me and always being on my side. Thanks babe! I love you.

First off I'd like to say KUDOS to my good friend and fellow author Lisa C Morgan. She is one month away from the launch of her book "Phoenix Rising". Very exciting times for her. If you love paranormal stories then you should check her out on The Book of Face  LISA C MORGAN - AUTHOR or check out her WEBSITE  Make sure and tell her how you found her if you link from here.

In other important news, I'll be heading out on vacation next month to rejuvenate from all the writing. Bob and I are heading to South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and a small slice of Colorado for two weeks. I can't wait! If we can hit a portion of North Dakota, I will have been in all 48 Continental states. I'll save Hawaii and Alaska for a writing excursion in the future.

I should have the book cover completed and up for your viewing pleasure by the weekend. I'll also post photos of my models who suffered 98 degree weather for several hours last Saturday. They are gorgeous and two of the sweetest girls I've ever met. Thanks Courtney and Becks.

Hope everyone has a fabulous week. Stay safe, read something that makes you happy and above all share my website with your friends! :))

Photo shoot
Waiting on the models so I can get to the business of shooting the cover photo for the book.
Very excited that this day is finally here. In 2 months the book will be available for sale.
BAD ASS TIMES!

*****UPDATE*****

The photo shoot was spectacular. The girls were gorgeous and we got a cover shot that is perfect. Thanks to Courtney E and Becks H

NEW STORY
So I started writing a new story and needed some beta readers to give a thumbs up/down for general interest. I posted late last night on Facebook asking for 2 people to give it a whirl. I got 17 offers! I picked the 2 that replied first (if they are up that late they're bored and need something to do anyway) and then I picked a +1 just for fun.
The first person to get back with me was Marlene Wynn, who gave some awesome feedback and a little suggestion to make the story flow better. So thanks my friend. I need all the help I can get sometimes (most times!).
The others I'm still waiting to hear back from but I'll definitely have an idea whether to pursue this story or just get back to Book 2 of "love/life".
I'm going to be gone this weekend so won't have a time to update but in the event I have a quick minute, I'll try and throw you guys a bone.
HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!

It's Tuesday
Another terrific weekend is in the book. I did what I needed to do most. SLEEP! I think I'm good for another couple of weeks now.
Yesterday Bob and I spent the day doing car stuff. Getting a new stereo installed in my car and cleaning up our rides. Man did mine ever need a good cleaning. Between the Dude and the babies, it was just a bit filthy.
Dinner and Top Gear followed and then it was back to the task of writing.
I started a new untitled work. I think if I give it my all, it could be finished by the end of June. That way I have time to promote "love/life" when it hits ebook stores.
I'm throwing in a photo of my sweet guy just for fun. He makes me smile.

YES YES YES
Got an email from the submissions director at FireFly & Wisp publishing that they are willing to sign me as a client. The book will only be available as an ebook for a while but with enough sales and interest I think we can get it in paperback by Christmas.
Very exciting times!

Stressed out
So I've been on the phone all day with publishing people. They all talk a good game but I'm scared to fork over a shit ton of money. What if they are full of crap & don't fulfill their end of the deal? I'm going to submit to a regular publishing company & see how it goes. Wish me luck

It was a lonnnng time coming, but its finally here
So the book is finally finished. You have no idea how relieved I am to know that its just an edit away from being a "real live book". So if you want to keep up with the details and you are on Facebook, please add me HERE  or LIKE my Author page HERE

Until you do that or if you are wavering on following me or liking me, here's a snippet from the book. Maybe this will get you on board.

From the novel "love/life"

As she started up the steps she felt a hand on her hip. She turned around to see David smiling.
“Thought I’d help you to find your earring since it appears your little boyfriend is more interested in sitting in the car with your mother,” he said.
“How can I ever repay you?” Adrienne replied as she leaned back and licked her lips.
The plane’s interior was still cool. David pushed her against the leather seat and swiftly untied the her halter-top. It fell down and he marveled at her young succulent breasts with the sexy tan lines.
He grabbed her ass as he leaned in and whispered, “You know how bad I want you right now, baby?”
She leaned back and felt his hands on her flat stomach. He unbuttoned her shorts and slid the zipper down slowly.
She knew it was a dangerous game she was playing. He was her dad’s best friend and had been for longer than she had been alive. But it turned her on too much to stop.
